As Greencarrier marks 25 years of delivering smart logistics solutions, we’re also celebrating the incredible journeys within the Greencarrier Group. Meet Nicolas Myrén – whose path from a summer temp to Managing Director of Greencarrier Consolidators in the Nordics is a testament to where passion and perseverance can take you.
When did your Greencarrier journey begin?
My journey began just over 21 years ago when I joined Greencarrier as a summer temp, working in export and import for one of our then brands under Greencarrier AB (Greencarrier Freight Services).
What was meant to be a short summer gig was extended when someone went on maternity leave – and I ended the year with a fantastic Christmas party in 2004.
And then?
I took a short break but returned in autumn 2007 as the Environmental and Quality Manager. It was an interesting role, though not quite the perfect fit for me – soon, I found myself drawn to the commercial side, and I’ve stayed there ever since.
What roles have you had throughout the years?
In addition to that initial summer job on the operational side, I’ve been a Quality and Environmental Manager, Inside Sales, Field Sales, Key Account Manager, Trade Lane Manager – and for the past four years, Managing Director of Greencarrier Consolidators Sweden.
I’ve also had the incredible opportunity to work abroad in both Shanghai and Hong Kong for several years. My mission there was to put Greencarrier on the map, win business, and build a local sales team focused on Swedish and Nordic clients.
What has motivated you along the way?
What has truly motivated me over the years is the opportunity to grow – in new roles, new countries, and constantly learning, as long as you’re willing to say yes and step up.
I’ve been trusted with challenges early on, supported by great managers who later became mentors and role models. That trust has meant the world to me.
Greencarrier is a Swedish company with its headquarters in my hometown, Gothenburg. We have strong values, a solid foundation, and a forward drive that’s energizing. That energy is something I carry into my role every day.
Any favorite memories?
It’s hard to pick just one – so I’ll give you three!
My years in China – those three years were life-changing. Being far from the comfort zone of Sweden made me grow, both personally and professionally.
All the business trips and adventures with colleagues – I’ve seen so much of the world thanks to Greencarrier. It’s a privilege not many get, and I’m incredibly grateful.
My very first Christmas party in 2004 at Skansen Lejonet – I showed up late, almost missed everything, and ended up seated next to the owner who was supposed to keep an eye on me. Let’s just say that didn’t quite work out… I made it home just in time for breakfast the next day.
But honestly, I think the best memories are still ahead. There’s so much fun to look forward to!
