Greencarrier and Mercy Ships partnership for people in medical need

Recently we had a LinkedIn campaign to raise funds for Mercy Ships operations and to put focus on their life-changing work. Together with our Greencarrier Spirit fund and the engagement of our employees and followers on LinkedIn we managed to raise 15 050 USD to Mercy Ships. Here are some examples of Mercy Ships’s important work and how the donation will make a difference.

Globally, 5 billion people lack access to safe surgery. In places without access to medical care, there are children, teens and adults suffering and dying from causes that can be treated. Greencarrier is proud to be a partner to Mercy Ships and support their operations to give medical care and hope to people in need.

Mercy Ships is an organization that owns and operates the world’s largest civilian hospital ship and they travel to countries where people don’t have access to safe medical care with their fully equipped modern hospital ships. The mission is to change the death statistics through care and education and bring hope and healing to the most vulnerable.

Together you’ve added to the sum of our donation!

In conjunction with Mercy Ship’s yearly Cargo Day, where actors within the shipping industry come together to raise money to Mercy Ships operations, Greencarrier pledged to donate the sum of 12 000 USD from the Greencarrier Spirit fund. To get more involvement into the project, and increase the awareness of Mercy Ships, we decided to raise the donated sum of 12 000 USD with 10 USD per like on our Greencarrier LinkedIn-post as well as all the likes we could get from reposts by our network.

Together we raised the amounts of total likes to 305! This means that with the engagement from our LinkedIn followers we will donate 15 050 USD to Mercy Ships. A fantastic result that brings help to more people and truly makes a difference.

Thank you all for your involvement!

Greencarrier and Mercy Ships – Collaboration for a better future

– “Being sustainable in business means that we in Greencarrier care for our company, the people in it and for our customers and partners. But it also means that we take on a larger responsibility, for the society in general and the future health of our planet. Our partnership with Mercy Ships is a way for us to contribute to our sustainability goals. With our core as a global shipping company we are happy to see how ships can be used to help people where people don’t have access to safe medical care.” Says Stefan Björk, founder and owner of Greencarrier.

Our view on sustainability

Each year Greencarrier set aside 1% of our profit to the Greencarrier Spirit Fund, funding local and global initiatives to make improvements for the environment and the society. Our collaboration with Mercy Ships is part of this initiative.
